Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science

Haverford College’s Department of Political Science invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Visiting Assistant Professor
appointment in American Politics to begin July 1, 2026, with classes starting on August 31, 2026. This appointment is for 1-year and is not
renewable. The teaching load is a total of five courses for the year (e.g., 2-3). We are especially interested in candidates whose expertise
would enable them to teach courses on political parties, elections, interest groups, or American political behavior. Familiarity with
American Political Development is also welcome. Successful candidates are eligible to teach courses across levels of the curriculum (i.e.
introductory, intermediate, and upper-level courses). Introductory courses typically have around 35 students, intermediate courses have
around 25 students, and upper-level courses have around 15 students. A PhD is expected by the date of appointment.
