The Roosevelt School at Long Island
University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of International Relations & Diplomacy. This position is a
Non-Tenure Track Appointment (NTTA).
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching international relations,
diplomacy, and global affairs; a strong commitment to student mentorship; and the ability to integrate experiential learning with academic
instruction. Candidates should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in areas such as international relations theory, U.S. foreign
policy, international organizations, negotiation and conflict resolution, global governance, and diplomatic practice.
Required
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in International Relations, Political Science, Diplomacy, Public Policy, or a
closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the post-secondary level
- Strong
knowledge of global political systems, international institutions, and contemporary foreign policy issues
- Excellent
communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in International
Relations, Political Science, or related discipline
- Professional experience in diplomacy, international organizations,
public service, policy analysis, or global non-profit leadership
- Experience with experiential learning models, including
simulations, Model United Nations, policy labs, or diplomatic negotiations
- Record of scholarship, policy engagement, or
applied research
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices
- Experience
mentoring students for internships, fellowships, or careers in government, international organizations, or NGOs
