Position Overview:
The Department of Politics and Philosophy and the Idaho Society of Fellows are now accepting applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Political Psychology, anticipated to begin August 1, 2025. Fellows will pursue their own research and teach one course per semester (as determined by the teaching needs of the department).
While we are open to subfields such as American Government and Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Methodology, we particularly encourage applications from candidates who have incorporated experimental approaches into their research on U.S. public opinion or international relations, as well as those whose work addresses critical questions related to democratic stability.
Required Experience:
- Broadly trained Political Psychologist with strong expertise in experimental design (either lab- or survey-based)
Required Education:
- Ph.D. in Political Science or equivalent field (e.g., Government; Politics). ABDs may apply but degree is required by start date
Required Other:
Additional Preferred:
- Experience incorporating experimental approaches into research on U.S public opinion or international relations
- Research that speaks to critical questions related to democratic stability
