Description
The Department of Political Science at Clemson University is conducting a search for a Lecturer in American politics to join our faculty in August 2025. This is a full-time, nine-month position, and the successful candidate will be eligible for annual reappointment. Lecturers at Clemson cannot advance to tenure, but they are full, voting members of the university’s faculty who can pursue promotion along an academic professional track leading to the rank of Senior Lecturer and Principal Lecturer with multi-year contracts. The position’s normal teaching load is four courses each semester (4-4). The selected candidate principally will offer introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in American politics. Teaching assignments may also include sections of undergraduate research methods. The ability to offer upper-level courses in constitutional law, judicial politics, Congress, or parties and interest groups is desirable.



Qualifications
A Ph.D. in political science or a related field, completed by August 15, 2025, is required.
