Description
This position will be responsible for
shaping the strategic direction, fostering interdisciplinary teamwork, and driving impactful research and educational initiatives in the
field of civic discourse. The Director will work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, and external partners to advance a dynamic
and vibrant environment for free expression and civic discourse.
Examples of Duties
- Work
with College leadership to establish this initiative in accordance with College regulations. - Responsible for developing and
submitting proposals on potential new initiatives, courses, and programming to College leadership. - Partner with College leadership
and the Foundation on ways to increase funding through donations (individuals, for-profit and not for-profit organizations) for the benefit
of the College. - Coordinate and supervise internship opportunities for qualified New College students.
- Provide academic and
research support and administrative direction for the initiative. - Provide leadership in resource development for the
initiative. - The Director performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to attending New College training and
professional programs such as required compliance training and safety training, as well as other programs that will assist them in the
performance of their job responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a
relevant area (History, Political Science, Anthropology, Economics or closely related field) with 6 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D in
History, Political Science, Anthropology, Economics, or a closely related field.
