Course Description: Sustainability and Environmental Systems  (Public Administration Program) 

Wake Forest University School of Professional Studies is seeking highly qualified candidates to develop and teach
the Sustainability and Environmental Systems course in the online Master of Public Administration program.
The ideal candidate is a professional who understands the theory and practice of ssustainability and environment focused
policymaking in Public Administration, along with recent trends and innovations in the industry.



Institutions at all
levels, local, state, federal, and international, are facing growing changes related to how human activities impact natural and
environmental systems. Public administration leaders need skills and insights to effectively lead institutions as they respond. This course
examines sustainable systems and environmental sciences to understand the conflicting objectives that are often part of public
administration. Examine environmental justice and the administrative forces that place environmental burdens on some groups and not others,
at the local/state/federal levels.

Students meet face-to-face in a virtual classroom environment weekly over an academic term,
providing them the opportunity to reinforce coursework materials, apply academic concepts, and participate in focused discussions with
faculty and colleagues.


Faculty Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in program field or related
    degree. Terminal degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in university-level teaching. Preferred
    applicants also will have a demonstrated ability to deliver graduate-level, online course experiences that are valued by industry. With
    the targeted audience for this program being adult students pursuing career growth, the University seeks to hire colleagues who are highly
    skilled in and/or highly attuned to adult learning best practices.
  • 5+ years industry
    experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive
    excellence and an ability to integrate ethical concepts and broad understandings of diversity
    .

Compensation for developing a 3.0 credit course= $10,000



Compensation
for teaching a 3.0 credit course= $5,000
