Continuous search – Political Science or Public Law Instructor
or Assistant Professor
The Political Science Program in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University
of Minnesota Duluth seeks applicants for our continuous job hiring pool to teach political science or public law and other courses related
to the applicant’s training or expertise. Preferred candidates can teach courses across subfields or in Constitutional Law. Applicants would
be added to the Political Science hiring pools. Courses may potentially be offered in an in-person, online or hybrid format. Term contracts
only; positions contingent on funding. Note: Being a member of the pool does not ensure a contract will be offered, course offerings, and
therefore teaching appointment, vary with demand and available funding.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications Instructor
MA or MS in
Political Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications Instructor



Ph.D. in Political Science or
International Relations or J.D.
Two years of teaching at the collegiate level.
Evidence of strong written communication skills and
the ability to work with diverse groups.


Required Qualifications Assistant Professor
Ph.D. or JD in Political
Science or related field and two years of teaching at the Collegiate Level.



Preferred Qualifications Assistant
Professor



Ph.D. in Political Science or International Relations or J.D.
Two years of teaching at the collegiate level.

Evidence of strong written communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.

Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) offering majors and minors in political science and international studies and a minor in social
analytics.


Pay and Benefits


Pay Range:


Teaching Assistant Professor Political
Science / Government: part-time percentage of the 100% full-time annual salary range of $49,892.25 – $64,892.25; depending on
education/qualifications/experience


Instructor of Political Science / Government: part-time percentage of the 100% full-time annual
salary range of $44,156.00 – $59,156.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience
