DESCRIPTION:It’s all civics & fun. Girls and boys study government\, run for office\, vote and convene a mock session of Congress to pass a bill.\n\n\nCamp Congress for Youth NYC 2026 is a leadership program that introduces girls and boy to the United States political system. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure of our political system. Each student will choose to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives\, the US Senate or for the presidency. Students will create a campaign with a platform\, campaign finance plan\, and film a political ad. All campers will register to vote and then vote in an election. Once elected to Congress and sworn in\, the newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a bill\, debate the merits of the bill\, lobby fellow legislators\, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Camp will culminate with a ceremonial signing of the bill by our President. From equations of Zionism with Nazism\, fascism\, racism\, imperialism\, and colonialism to claims that Israel is a genocidal\, apartheid state\, the contemporary demonization of Zionism and Israel by the anti-Israel left follows familiar patterns born during the Cold War to serve the USSR’s geopolitical objectives. In this talk\, Izabella Tabarovsky traces the trajectory of contemporary antizionism from Cold War USSR to the 1970s-80s global left\, the postcolonial Third World\, the UN and university campuses today.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a discussion on how drones are reshaping modern politics and warfare.\n\n\nIn The Remote Revolution\, Erik Lin-Greenberg shows that drones are rewriting the rules of international security—but not in ways one would expect. Emerging technologies like drones are often believed to increase the likelihood of crises and war. By lowering the potential risks and human costs of military operations\, they encourage decision-makers to deploy military force. Yet as Lin-Greenberg contends\, operations involving drones are in fact less likely to evolve into broader\, more intense conflicts than similar operations involving traditionally crewed assets. Even as drones increase the frequency of conflict\, the decreased costs of their operations reduces the likelihood of conflict escalation. Lin-Greenberg’s findings demonstrate that drones are far less destabilizing than commonly argued. Drones add rungs to the proverbial “escalation ladder” and\, in doing so\, have brought about a fundamental change—a revolution—in the character of statecraft.

Drawing on extensive archival research\, the book traces how an eighteenth-century Yorkshire writer was read and admired within an increasingly totalitarian society\, and places these encounters within their biographical\, cultural\, and institutional settings. The talk shows how Sterne’s whimsical world—so alien to the Bolshevik vision of society—became\, precisely through this incongruity\, a revealing lens on early Soviet cultural life.
