Girls will celebrate International Women’s Day\, exploring the movement for the rights of women and girls. Camp United Nations for Girls NYC 2026 is a two-day program that includes the activities outlined below. This is a day-program with parents being responsible for accommodations and transportation of those traveling to NYC to participate.Ticketing options for girls ages 9 to 11 and ages 12 to 17. \nDay 1 – United Nations Headquarters (9am to 5pm) \nUnited Nations Pavilion tour and photo op for students \nUnited Nations Headquarters’ Exhibits \nUnited Nations Headquarters Tour \nLunch on site at Vienna Café \nUnited Nations Private Briefing: Women in Peacekeeping \nVirtual Reality Experience: Women in Peacekeeping \nDay 2 – Conference Center (8am to 12pm) \nCamp United Nations begins with a lesson on the history of the United Nations and the organization’s purpose. This is followed by a study of the structure\, leadership\, and the rules of procedure of the United Nations. Each student will be given an assignment to serve as a delegate for a UN Member State. When the General Assembly convenes delegates will propose a resolution. The resolution will be subject to negotiation and amendment by the UN Delegates before a vote on a final version of the resolution. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides earn a Global Action Award or World Thinking badge for participating in Camp United Nations for Girls. \nThe camp is strictly limited to 18 students per age group. Ticketing groups are ages 9-11 and ages 12-17. If a participant is unable to attend a session a credit will be placed on file that may be used at any time for a future program. The credit does not expire. \nIs this a partisan program or supported by a political party? No\, the Girls in Politics Initiative is an independent organization that is self-funded through the fees generated from hosting sessions. The curriculum is civic education. \nIs financial assistance available? Due to rising costs associated with hosting events\, there is no financial assistance available for this event and there is no promo code for this event. \nWho are the instructors? Our Lead Instructors are women that currently or have previously worked in government or electoral politics. Our support staffers are current or former licensed teachers. All instructors and support staff undergo background screening. All instructors and support staff are also in compliance with any local ordinances or state/provincial regulations applicable to those working with children.
