Texas Policy Forum

Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy invites Texas state legislators and their staff members to a special lunchtime policy briefing at the Texas State Capitol on Monday, Oct. 20, from noon to 2:00 pm.

Hear from Baker Institute Director David M. Satterfield and meet experts in public finance, health, technology, security, and more. This is a unique opportunity to meet our Rice-based scholars in Austin and explore their evidence-based, nonpartisan research on a broad range of Texas policy issues.

The Texas Policy Forum will address some of the state’s most pressing policy challenges, including budget and tax reform, school-based health and education outcomes, the economic impact of research and innovation, cross-border and trade dynamics, and the growing influence of housing, food access, and infrastructure on community health.

This event is open to state legislators and legislative staff, state government officials, and Rice University alumni. Registration is required.
