The talk examines the historical evolution of constitutionalism in Kazakhstan — from the political traditions to the recent reforms.

The talk examines the historical evolution of constitutionalism in Kazakhstan — from the political traditions of the Kazakh Khanate and the democratic ideals of the Alash Party to the modern “Qazaqstan Eli Constitution” draft and recent constitutional reforms. It will analyze how concepts of governance, sovereignty, and the rule of law have developed through Kazakhstan’s unique experience at the intersection of nomadic political culture, national movements, and contemporary state-building.
