About the Lecture:

Michael will examine the evolution of Juche, North Korea’s guiding ideology, and its potential psychological impact on its Special Operations Forces (NKSOF). Since the clandestine national security objective of North Korea is the revolutionization of the Korean peninsula through the unification of South Korea under Kim Jung-un, understanding how their state ideology impacts the mental framework of their elite military operatives could be useful in finding strategies and tactics to deter their operational capabilities.

About the Speaker:

Michael Liu is a first-year master’s student at IWP. He is a candidate for an MA in Statecraft and National Security Affairs. Michael grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada and has been studying in the United States for five years.
