Baker Briefing Live: The Battle Over DEI in Higher Education
May 5 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Early in its second term, the Trump administration took bold steps to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives — universally known as “DEI” — on U.S. university campuses. In this live recording of the Baker Briefing podcast, Ambassador David Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute, and Ruth Simmons, President’s Distinguished Fellow at Rice University, will discuss the impact of these policies on campus culture, faculty hiring, and student experiences, especially for marginalized groups. They will explore how college campuses are reacting to being newly targeted as political battlegrounds while striving to uphold long held commitments to inclusivity and opportunity for all students.
