MCCD Advocacy Training – AT THE CAPITOL

The Minnesota Consortium of Community Developers (MCCD) is excited to host our 4th annual Advocacy Training at the Capitol!

We invite our members and community partners to learn about advocacy at the Minnesota State Capitol and to practice testifying in an actual hearing room.

Learn tips from experts and hear from lawmakers about how advocacy focused on community development can boost support for policy change and investments in affordable housing and economic development. The MCCD Policy team will stay in touch with additional details, including transportation and parking.

T ime: 8:30am – 12:30pm

Location: Minnesota State Capitol (L’Etoile du Nord Vault, Room B15)

Program Agenda:

• Check-in, Networking, Coffee, & Introductions
• State Legislature & Advocacy 101
• Develop a Compelling Elevator Pitch
• Practice Testimony in a Mock Hearing
