Girls in Politics Initiative Summer Intensive 2026, Washington DC

The Girls in Politics Initiative Summer Intensive 2026, Washington DC takes place in the heart of the nation’s capital. This summer intensive includes a series of lectures on domestic government, foreign policy, diplomacy, advocacy, community organizing, modern political campaigning and leadership development workshops. Students will also explore the nation’s capital visiting monuments, museums and spending a day on Capitol Hill.

Workshop: Each student will develop an issue campaign or community service project based on her personal interests. Students will present their capstone projects in class.
Social Outing: Afternoon at The Wharf

Age and Program Capacity
This program recommended for girls ages 12 to 17. The program capacity is 15 students.
Registration, Payment Options and Financial Assistance
The registration fee includes all program materials, camp insurance and four Girls in Politics Initiative shirts.
Payment in full of tuition at time of registration $1300.
Financial assistance is not available for this program.
Arrival and Departure
This is a day program. Parents are responsible for student’s transportation to and from the program each day.
Hotel Recommendations
For those traveling to Washington,DC we recommend any of the Marriott group of IHG group hotels in the National Mall area.
Attire
Participants should wear comfortable attire that includes athletic shoes. Each participant will receive four Girls in Politics Initiative shirts to wear during the program.
Cancellation Policy
The registration fee and deposit are non-refundable. If a participant is unable to attend for any reason, a voucher for the registration fee paid will be issued. The voucher may be used for any future program and will not expire.
